Before/After beachday treats
It's well known; when you spend energy, it makes you hungry!
Have you ever had a little craving before/after a surf session or a long day at the beach? We have some ideas to satisfy your sweet tooth, while respecting the nutritional needs of your body.
Healthy treats, we like that!
Let’s talk smoothie; this tasty liquid can be stodgy when the ingredients are well proportioned, it’s our to-go snack. The stomach assimilates juice and smoothies much faster than solid food. The essential nutrients are therefore rapidly distributed to the cells and tissues of the body. It's the perfect option when you're in a hurry to go tease the waves, but want to eat well.

The power smoothie is perfect for energizing and start your day right. Our two secret ingredients (which are no longer a secret now) are spirulina and aloe vera. Spirulina is a seaweed rich in iron, proteins and antioxidants, which is very beneficial for a faster muscle recovery and promote excellent physical vitality. Aloe Vera provides an incredible immune defense system, since it eliminates harmful toxins from the body and helps reduce stomach ache by promoting good digestion. It is also an effective antibiotic and a natural anti-inflammatory. That's why the power smoothie is our favorite choice before we go tackle the waves with our surfboard!
Don’t forget the after-surf treats! After a hot day in the sun, what we want is a good homemade popsicle to freshen up. Here are our three favorite recipes that we absolutely love.
The Boost Pop is the one that allows you to continue your day, even if you’re tired. It gives you the little boost you need with caffeine and it's so good with coconut!
Ingredients:
∾1/2 cup of vegan yogurt made with coconut
∾2 cups of strong coffee previously cooled down
Put the yogurt in the bottom of the popsicle molds, freeze for about 1 hour, then add the coffee. Leave at least 5 hours in the freezer so you can enjoy the Boost Pop after your day at the beach.
The Yogi Pop rhyme with calm and serenity since it’s a matcha-based popsicle. Both nutritious and revitalizing, matcha is a very good antioxidant for our body.
Ingredients:
∾2 teaspoon of matcha powder
∾3 tablespoon of maple syrup
∾1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
∾3 cups of almond milk
∾1 / 4 cup of organic whole black chia seeds
Put the matcha powder, maple syrup, vanilla extract and almond milk in a mixer. Transfer to a bowl. Add the chia seeds and stir. Let stand for 10 minutes, then stir again. Pour into the popsicle molds. Leave at least 5 hours in the freezer to taste the Yogi Pop at it’s best.
Our last, which is very fruity, is the Healthy Pop. It has a smooth texture and it tastes sweet and delicious. The secret is the silky tofu! It’s also rich in antioxidants thanks to the wild blueberries.
Ingredients:
∾1 / 2 cup of silky tofu
∾1 banana
∾1 cup of wild blueberries
∾2 teaspoon of honey or maple syrup
∾1 egg white
∾1 / 2 cup of almond milk
Put all the ingredients in a mixer. Pour into the popsicle molds. Add some fruits for decoration. Leave at least 5 hours in the freezer to enjoy the Healthy Pop.
Enjoy the treats and the summer (it’s not over yet!).
