Our Tips to Make Your New Year's Resolutions a Reality

There is something simply magical about the New Year. Even if you don’t believe that the calendar resetting has anything to do with what will happen in the next months, there is an inexplicable sparkle to the possibility of new beginnings and opportunities. The New Year calls people to be the best version of themselves. Isn’t there something inspiring about setting goals and resolutions for yourself?

However enticing that may seem, we know it isn’t always easy to keep your word and to stay on the track you lay out for yourself. This year, we wanted to share our best tips on how make your goals a reality, whether they were a part of your New Year’s resolutions or not.


1. Set Specific and Realistic Goals

There is no reason to adopt an ambiguous objective that is impossible for you to attain. Be specific about what you want to achieve, and you will feel much more rewarded. We wouldn't want you to feel discouraged: go girl!


2. Start Small

Baby steps are the key to success! To avoid overdoing it and losing your motivation, condition yourself to be satisfied by any stepping stone toward your goal.


3. Write Them Down

Taking the time to organize your resolutions will make the process seem more tangible. Indeed, by writing down all the steps to reach your target and by setting a time frame to achieve it, the path to success will seem accessible and clear.


4. Work with one goal at a time

By doing so, you will be able to concentrate on that single objective far better than if your attention was dispersed on others! Keep the multitasking for other things!


5. Seek support from friends and family

Two are better than one! Why not try to set your resolutions with your bestie so you can work on them together? Your journey toward your better self will seem much less intimidating when done with the support of a friend!


6. Don’t Give Up

Changing your lifestyle or your habits is always harder than expected… Remember that the result will be worth the effort and encourage yourself to keep to your resolution … at least past the end of January!


You are in charge of your own story and your determination is what will help you achieve your goals. However, remember not to be too hard on yourself: bettering yourself is a journey filled with ups and downs, but you’ve just got to ride the wave and see where it brings you!
