The New June
It’s crazy to think that it’s already been six years since we started June, and I am truly grateful for all of the incredible people who have come along for the ride, and the amazing places we’ve been along the way. For this new season, we decided it was time to step back a bit and rethink our identity which meant growing up a little bit, and maturing as a company. Still, it was important for us to keep things simple, not lose focus, and keep our core dedicated to the loyal following of girls who helped get us where we are today; people who have been supporting us since day one, and others who have caught the surf bug more recently.
We’ve always had a fun formula to work with: make the bikinis we love, and create beautiful photography in stunning places all around the world. Still, we kept asking ourselves what’s next in the world of June because we’ve always aspired to be more than just a bikini brand. We don’t want to give away too much right away because there’s a lot more to come over the next few collections, but we’re starting with a brand new online experience, and refined visual identity. We’ve been working on it for months, and we absolutely love it. We hope you do too! Ultimately we see this as an opportunity to deliver incredible content in a beautiful package, and this is just the beginning.
For this latest collection, we decided to head out to Ojai, California. While doing our research for the collection, we fell in love with an Airstream project out there that was way too cool to stay a secret. We spent a few days at the Caravan Outpost putting together the lookbook, and getting to know the people behind the project there. Our goal was to put together a lookbook that felt less like a bikini catalogue and more like an experience, and we think we accomplished that. The collection itself is intended to be a bit more sporty-chic than usual, using colours that look great even if you haven’t seen the sun in a few months. Our defining piece, the Bootykini, is back and better than ever – same amazing cut, but sewn to be way more comfortable, and fit securely even when you’re out surfing.
Thank you for being a part of our world, and we hope you love everything we’ve work on. Make sure to take us #allaroundtheworld with you!
