Marie DonaldsonCurrently stuck inland for her studies, Marie never missed an opportunity to leave her little comfort zone and make her way down to Central America for some waves chasing. Started surfing in her twenties, she multiplicate trips under the sun to practice her be-loved sport. What's her absolute dream you ask ? Owning her little Café on the beach and give back to the community. We are crushing on this girl and her simplicity!
JS: What’s your all time favourite June Swimwear style and why?
MD: I would have to say the Louise top, because of his support while surfing. This top can also be worn as a sports bra and still be stylish! I also love the Bootykini because of its cheekiness!
JS: Is there one wave/surf spot that you just can’t get out of your head?
MD: That's a hard one! I can't decide between Pavones in Costa Rica and Punta Mango in El Salvador.
JS: Where do you find inspiration when you get down or low-energy?
MD: I always try to stay positive and think about my next big project or next step towards what I want to accomplish and it always get me so excited. I also think that being active is the biggest mood booster and makes anyone feel better.
JS: What’s the next destination on your bucket list?
MD: Indonesia. Without a doubt. Ever since my brother came back from a surf trip in Indo, it has been a dream of mine to go spend some time there.
JS: What are you listening to now?
MD: I've been listening to a lot of Spanish music lately. My best friend also showed me this band called Crooked Colours which I love at the moment.
JS: What’s the funniest thing that happened to you while travelling?
MD: I can't think of one thing, but I have so many funny memories from working in Nicaragua last summer with the most amazing girls. We were living in this tiny apartment with a view on the town and we would all be exhausted after work but would still have an absolute blast.
JS: How do you deal with long flight?
MD: Honestly? I don’t. I'm one of these people that cannot sleep on the plane so I just sit there, eat way too much chocolate and wait for it to be over. Ahhhh!
JS: Any advice for girls who want to get into surfing?
MD: It might sound cliché but Just do it! Some people keep waiting for the perfect moment to take a trip and to learn how to surf but the truth is that there is never going to be a perfect moment for it. So just pack your bags and GO!! I can guarantee you that you won't regret it and it might in fact be the best decision of your life.
